7th Little League Challenger — Empowering Children with Disabilities through Baseball and the Spirit of the LLB

The 7th Little League Challenger for children with disabilities took place on December 1, 2024, at Tianmu Baseball Stadium. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an joined as an on-field partner to the young athletes, delivering the athlete’s oath together and throwing the ceremonial first pitch to officially kick off this spirited and thrilling event.

The Taipei City Government continues to promote inclusive sports initiatives rooted in the core value of equity and mutual growth—perfectly aligned with the spirit of the Little League Challenger, known as “the game with the fewest limits and the most participation.” Yao Shu-wen, Commissioner of the Department of Social Welfare, also noted that in support of the CRPD’s vision of inclusive participation, Taipei has expanded its social participation grant program to encourage greater engagement among persons with disabilities.

The 2025 World Masters Games in Taipei and New Taipei City will take place from May 17 to 30. In addition to competing and engaging with athletes from around the world, participants will also enjoy a vibrant lineup of cultural and tourism events hosted by Taipei City. By integrating sports with local experiences, the city offers visitors a unique opportunity to discover the diverse charm of northern Taiwan through its iconic landmarks and renowned culinary delights.
