Major Events 2019

January
12  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government organized an award ceremony for Design Competition for Children and Youth -- Taipei Youth Logo and CRC (or Convention on the Rights of the Child). The competition encourages children to design logos specific for Taipei Youth from their perspective and to interpret CRC with patterns and words from their understanding. 44 works and 52 winners were awarded.
 
April
22  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government conducted the 2019  Seminar of the Social Welfare Major Point and the Budget for “Innovate Social Welfare through Technology” policy.  A total of 205 attendees joined the conference which demonstrated the spirit of diversified citizen participation.
 
June
21  Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault  contracted-out Children Welfare League Foundation to operate and manage “ TONG XIN YUAN, Taipei City Parent-Child Visitation Center” to provide supervised visitation and exchange services for parents and children in Taipei.
 
July
01  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government transformed the idle space into NPO Hub Taipei, which is the first collective office for NPOs at a price lower than the market average.
 
August
05  The innovative proposal “Data Integration to increase efficiency and facilitate medication dispensing at one click” by The Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled won the Excellence Award in Taipei City Government Innovative Proposal Competition.
06  Due to relentless efforts in promoting Children and Youth Internet Safety, the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government was awarded with the Best Support Award by iWIN (Institute of Watch Internet Network).
20  With Taipei City Reinforced Children and Youth Protection Network through   Internet Cooperation Implementation Plan announced by the Taipei City Government, the Taipei City Center for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention shared network resources (information) to create common ground on children and youth protection placement and reduce their risks of being abused again.
 
September
01  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government implemented “Childcare Allowance for 0-5 Year Old Children and Extra Grant for 2-3 Year Old Children,” which is an extension to Taipei City Childcare Allowance policy.
 
October
16  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government took the leadership to set up a Goods Bank matching section with Give543, the only online platform around the globe that has no conditions on goods exchange and sharing. A press conference on “Passing the Love & Blessing” was held on June 10, 2019 to encourage goods donation. From January to September 2019, social welfare groups had received 308 donated goods. In October, Give543 was bestowed with Sustainable Growth Award under the Global ICT Excellence Award category.
19  Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government conducted Children Future Education and Development Account educational conference. As of October 2019, 749 children and youth opened the account and the sign-up rate reached 50%.
