The Taipei City Government enforces the latest social worker pay rise policy set out by the central government to protect rights and benefits of frontline social workers

    With the new policies on wages for social workers passed by The Ministry of Health and Welfare in September 2019, the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government follows accordingly. For commission and subsidy projects on 1 January of 2020, new wage rates will be applied. Meanwhile, for existing contracts, the Department of Social Welfare is actively negotiating with private sectors and service providers. It is estimated that the negotiation will be completed by first quarter of 2020 and contracts dated from January 1 2020 are applicable. In addition, the new measure has been announced to divisions and units so that they will apply the new wage rate (including longevity pay) for 2021 budget planning. These are aimed to faithfully carry out the new policy by the central government and guarantee the rights and benefits for the Social workers.
